For a very long
time we have wanted to
create Klioe, a browser that doesn't take up dozens of megabytes and
minutes to download, a browser that improves upon the idea of safe web
browsing and minimalist design, and now we have finally reached the
base of that hope. Klioe 1.0 is now available for download, starting
12/12/2009. This small open-source internet browser was handcrafted in
Apple Xcode and Interface Builder, featuring a powerful Webkit
framework and universal architecture compatible on OS X Leopard and up.

We have worked very
hard making Klioe a secure and safe way to surf the web, namely
reducing the amount of complex built-in plugins packaged with Klioe.
With fewer complex plugins, there are very little loopholes for
electronic attackers and hackers to sneak through. With the most
updated Webkit framework available, we have the top internet security
developed by Apple combined with our lack of complex plugins. Another
powerful security feature in Klioe is Incognito Browsing, where your
valuable internet history is kept very private and hidden despite the
access attempts of potential attackers. In this
respect, Klioe is surely safer than most modern day browsers. |

Klioe has a very
small footprint when it runs, and takes virtually no space on your
computer. In fact, the full packaged version of Klioe takes up only 600
kilobytes, approximately 160 times smaller than Google Chrome and 50
times smaller than Mozilla Firefox. When you run Klioe it loads
instantaneously as opposed to the sluggish load times of Firefox and
other OS X web browsers. If you need to copy a web browser to a
flashdrive or other small device, Klioe is the perfect solution as it
can duplicate via USB in less than an eighth of a second*. |

Klioe 1.0 was
written in Cocoa (one of the most powerful programming languages on the
OS X system), and deeply fine-tuned with other small
systems such as .XIB interface format. To ensure maximum stability and
overall performance of Klioe, we have also compiled the source
code in Xcode, Apple's signature development tool. The architecture has
been modified to run on both Intel and PowerPC processors, giving
system compatibility to nearly all users. When you run Klioe you are
not running some homemade application created by college freshmen, you
are running a proffessionally-designed Xcode masterpiece. |
